recipes for round the house

Cleaning products can be expensive and I was always needing my asthma medication anytime I used them...but so far so good with these homemade versions and they cost me only 48cents total!

You will need to obtain 3 spray bottle (I had some around the house but you can always ask the neighbours, friends, or family...if no luck they're really cheap at the hardware store or $2 shop)

1 - Floor Cleaner- Cost 9cents and will last 3 washes of my three bedroom home

Place in the spray bottle

1 Tablespoon of dish washing liquid
2 ml (approx 20 drops) of tea tree oil

Then add

Water

Almost to the top, leave enough room to be able to shake a little

How to use - Grab your mop, make sure it is dry, mist it with plain water so it is only a tiny bit damp.  The spray the floor and mop over, it's easy to a section at a time and it dries really quick.  It even removed the dried paint from the kids craft project! See below.

Note - I have timber floors and have found it works really well with no effect on our clear lacquer but as with all cleaners test a small patch first

2 - Kitchen Benchtop and Cupboard Cleaner - Cost 10cents

In a spray bottle add

2 cups of water
2ml of tea tree oil
2 tablespoons of white vinegar
1/2 teaspoon of dish washing liquid

Shake and spray...then wipe :)

3 - Bathroom cleaner - Cost 29cents

Add 2 cups of hot but not boiling water to spray bottle (this is so the borax dissolves better)

Then add
1 & 1/3 tablespoons of borax (swirl around a bit to mix)

Then add
3 tablespoons of white vinegar
1 & 1/2 teaspoons of dish washing liquid

Give a little shake and spray...then wipe down.  Can be used all over bathroom and toilet (not the mirror).

Note - I could only find Borax at Coles in the Laundry section, it wasn't available at Woolies.

Stay tuned for more cleaning ideas and recipes xx

Ps. Label your bottles for easy identification and include the recipes as well - see below
